Hosted by CEO Global, Adila received the award in the Arts and Culture sector for being one of Africa's most influential women in business. Especially huge congratulations go to the Helen O’Grady Drama Academy’s inspirational Principal who, in two year’s running, has received a top business award thanks to her incredible work in developing the Academy in Mauritius. The awards are the leading pan African recognition programme honouring excellence in the private and public sectors. The programme covers 23 economic sectors and has for two decades independently recognised those leaders who are the pinnacle of their industry. Accepting this prestigious award, Adila Budullah said, ‘I’m dedicating my award to all young entrepreneurs, women and my mom! I believe everyone is capable of achieving success with the right mentors, friends and loved ones. I want to thank my husband and kids for supporting me all the way. The truth is it starts with self-belief and not giving up, even in the toughest challenges. Truly, there is no greater reward. Set that goal and take one step at a time. I also want to thank family, friends and everyone who continues to support me in my journey. Make that change and start with yourself.’ Annelize Wepener, Chief Executive, of CEO Global said, ‘Nominees undergo a rigorous multi-tiered judging process. Quality assurance is provided by independent auditors throughout the judging and the highest possible standard is maintained. Those individuals who have been recognized as winners in their field can be assured they have truly excelled. There are tremendously inspirational stories at the core of each winner’s professional and personal life story.’ Adila runs a thriving Helen O’Grady Drama Academy in Mauritius. Children and adults who attend her classes know how passionate she is about developmental drama and the results can be seen in her excellent productions and presentation days. Director of Helen O’Grady Africa, Duncan Rice says, ‘We are immensely proud of Adila’s achievements. She is a remarkable woman, full of passion and compassion, and she really brings out the best in each and every person through her vibrant and creative Academy. Building a drama school of such professionalism is down to her hard work and dedication.’ The island of Mauritius is very lucky to have Adila’s expertise and commitment in the development of arts and culture.
